The future of data centres has to be cleaner and greener…

Alex Soto joined a panel discussion at Footprint +, hosted by, Viritopia and Steve McIntyre. In conversation with Martin Wright, Chief Architect at Pure Data Centres Group, Sam Grady, Director of Strategy at A Healthier Earth and Jack Williamson, Associate Architect at Scott Brownrigg, the panel explored the theme: ‘Data Centres taking their place on the built environment’.

Alex commented, “As architects, living walls offer us the opportunity to expand our materials palette to incorporate a textured, layered effect to facades that also changes with the seasons. This helps to enhance the visual aesthetics of otherwise large, blank facades associated with technical building areas, whilst supporting urban greening and mitigating the effects of heat island effect in urban settings.”
